Should the government be able to open your letters?

I AM LIVID!!!!

In fight against fentanyl, your mail may be opened
Canadian Border Services officers can already open packages to look for drugs. Bill C-37 says they also should be able to open letters, but civil rights activists say that's going too far.

really? I have a better idea about what to do about this fentanyl crisis bull****. jesus-c, this problem is not going to be resolved by snooping in my mailbox! Intervention begins a lot earlier than that: years earlier!
(as seen in the comments:  “Any man (person) who would trade liberty for security deserves neither.”)

Dearest BB, what are we to do?

My very first cake-on-demand

Chocolate Ginger Cake

Hello BB ♥

Fortunately, no one cares at this point about the frosting or packaging.  Thankfully they are very happy cake-loving recipients.

Project Week VI: Homemade Vanilla Extract

Hello BB ♥

In reality it is best made with vodka, rum or bourbon.  While there is rum in the house, it is the one spirit that the special gentleman companion prefers.  Hmmm ... what's this: Southern Comfort? A gift he'd received for Christmas (that neither one of us imbibes).

If you're ever curious as to how to make it, the ratio is basically 1 bean per 2 oz of 35%/70 proof alcohol (preferable vodka as it will not strong arm the bean).  Should you decide to make extracts for gift giving, plan to start making them 2 1/2 to 3 months in advance.

OASIS OAMARU IN NEW ZEALAND

While I was recently in Bali preparing for our upcoming Indonesian Antiques Tours, the very stylish Michael Nalder invited me over to his tropical oasis – his home – for a fabulous dinner and cocktails. While sipping champagne in this exotic locale, I had the opportunity to meet Greg Waite, owner of Oasis Oamaru, an antique store in New Zealand. We became fast friends, which seems to happen often in the international antiques community. Greg and I discussed his shop in New Zealand as well as life in general in his beautiful country. It’s safe to say that my desperate desire to travel there has only been enhanced since meeting Greg!
While we’ll be featuring Michael’s store in the coming months, as it happens to be one of my favorite sources in all of Bali, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at one of our new Antiques Diva friends in New Zealand. It never ceases to amaze me how small the world is when you’re constantly traveling. Who knows, perhaps The Antiques Diva & Co will be expanding to New Zealand next?! For now, here is a look at our friends from Oasis Oamaru.
